Uehara seems to have finally returned to form in late July, but he didn't look all that solid today when I saw him pitch the 9th against the PL selects team. He gave up a solidly hit liner to deep right fielder that was saved by Araki, then gave up a walk. Maybe something to do with transitioning to international standard baseballs after using NPB balls for half a season. I don't like the way Team Japan is preparing for the Olympics though, playing against your own countrymen in a domed stadium is far from playing against international competition in natural grass outdoor stadiums in the Beijing heat and humidity. Anyways, I reckon Iwase will set up for Fujikawa in the late innings and Uehara better not be used in any high leverage situtations, I still don't trust him, even though Hoshino does.
