I wasn't really buying it, but if it really is 3 years/$24 million, my feeling is that the Braves pushed this through in the last couple days and that the others were offering 2 or 3 yrs at $7 mill per. I'd say it's a bit of an overpay -- a team going through an ugly divorce with Smoltz, not wanting to give Lowe the ransom he wants, looking to get something done before it's too late. I hope he does well though. I'm so interested to see what he and Uehara do now that we know where they're going.
