Ken Takahashi Released, on His Way to The Mets

As we first learned from commenter Nelson, the Blue Jays have released lefty Ken Takahashi. Baseball sources have confirmed his release from the Jays, and mlb.com also has a blurb about him signing with the Mets.

So it looks like the prediction that I made in the offseason has turned out to be correct.

Did you hear about the Daisuke Matsuzaka vs. Kenshin Kawakami game today? Check it out. In classic fashion it was won with a walk-off. That wasn’t even the biggest storyline of the game (that would be John Smoltz returning to his former clubs’ spring training facility), but a lot of Japanese media members were in attendance. 15-30 Japanese media follow Kenshin’s starts and that many routinely follow Daisuke’s every move.
