As much as I like uniforms, it’s good to see Vogelsong get his time in the limelight this year after Colby Lewis did last year (Lewis is actually not that much worse than last season in terms of xFIP).

Both pitchers seem to have mastered better control while pitching in Japan. Not sure how much of that can be attributed to pitching in the NPB, but interesting nonetheless.

The Softbank blue uniforms remind me of the blue visitor uniforms that were in vogue in the 70s and 80s. Here’s the Tigers version.

I think some MLB team did it first, but the Phillies version was the most memorable for me.

A bunch of MLB teams had the blue road unis, the Royals did it the longest and the best.
To me it just doesn’t look good with white pants, needs to be all blue like Hanshin’s.
I wish Chunichi would go to a powder blue road jersey with the royal blue stripes down the side, instead of what they currently have,

The Baystars summer uniforms are the same ones they had last year — my custom Kagami jersey is one of those 🙂

Those All-Star uniforms are ugly. Man.

A late response to Simon… yep, Vogey has been fun to watch here in the Bay Area. His control is much improved but on top of that, he seems to know exactly what he wants to do with every batter. He’s been very impressive.

I do these types of posts when I’m busy with other things, because the keep my writing muscles in shape and give me a nice quick diversion.
